Anyone care to share results of running the screen saver for many generations?

I've run it for about 2000 generations and its been interesting to watch the simulation so far, that's for sure. I note that the improvements tend to come in leaps and bounds; the best distance was "stuck" at 10 for a long time, then 20, then 42, then 45, and now has been at 59 for quite a long span of generations. Each "era" coincides with a new locomotion technology. My current critters are tripeds which seem to be becoming less complex, more symmetric, exhibiting a simpler "single piece body with legs" sort of design with longer limbs and made of fewer pieces, but are still pretty primitive and klunky looking.

Anyone know what is the longest that this thing has been run & what the results were like? I'm curious about the styles of critters that might evolve from this specific algorithm.

I have seen this, but am wondering about this specific algorithm, and hearing about longer term results.

I'd also be interested in tweaking the script, is the Steve language documented more thoroughly somewhere that anyone knows of?

Cheers,
TJ

Save your critters. I am certain Mr. Sims saved the best ones and evolved or mixed them together. When you run the simulation you only end up with the best of an initial population if you get breve you can determine what critters you want to compete.
